How do I take my game to the next level? I'm 15 years old and about a 12 handicap looking to drop a few more strokes off my game. I've been working with a pro for the past 3 years and have dropped my handicap from about a 30 to a 12 but I seem to be stuck in that 12-14 range. My iron play is great but my consistency with the driver is not there. I see that as the downfall of my game along with not being able to make very many long putts. I two putt most of the time but a 1 putt every now and then could be helpful. I work with one of the best pros in the area and I go on hot streaks once in a while with the driver but i'd like to build consistency. With a consistent driver I feel that i could easily be between a 5 and 8 handicap. Any tips or suggestions would be very much appreciated. My short game is relatively good and I have built confidence over the past year with it. I just can't seem to drain a clutch putt or even a 20 footer once in a while. I play a Ping G5 driver 10.5* with the green aldila (sp?) shaft and hit it consistently around 280. I don't really want to change drivers at this point because with everything I've hit it's pretty much the same thing, long but inconsistent. My mental toughness is there. That is one part of the game I have down. Now of course every once in a while I will get pissed off but thats usually after 3 or 4 drives that are bad. Honestly I've got all the tools to be great but I have that little downfall with my driver that I need to work out. Through reading all of the answers so far and thinking about this for the past month or so I think it all comes down to how much time I spend practicing with the driver. Also.. I know the G5 is longer than normal. If I were to cut the shaft to 45 or 44 inches that would help with my accuracy off the tee, correct?
